Activism

Communities of color have consistently been oppressed in American history for way too long. As an activist, I refuse to have a platform and not use it for the betterment of my people and their rights. How can we consistently preach that "Black Lives Matter" and have no action behind it? I can no longer see the oppression of my people and stay stagnant. This page is dedicated to theatre for social change that I have been apart of and opportunities for others to be apart of as well.

Star Spangled Manners: A spoken word piece I wrote in response to voting rights for all and justice for the communities of color around the nation.

Taking The Streets: During the year 2020, police brutality was at an all time high. We marched the streets of downtown Jacksonville, Florida, to release all peaceful protestors from jail and to stop targeting people of color on the streets.

26 Pebbles: Directed by Madison Kiernan this staged reading was produced at Theatre Jax to protest against gun violence in schools.

MLK Day: I recited "I rise" by Maya Angelou for ithaca   college's celebration of martin luther king jr. day as well as black history month. in efforts of creating a more diverse and celebrated space for p.o.c at a predominantly white institution.

Juneteenth fundraiser of 2020: warning! violent  Graphic pictures and videos included in this video.
